The Dryanovo monastery (Dryanovski manastir) is a functioning Bulgarian Orthodox monastery situated in the Andaka River Valley in the central part of Bulgaria, 5 kilometers away from the town of Dryanovo. It was founded in the 12th century, during the Second Bulgarian Empire, and is dedicated to Archangel Michael. Twice burnt down and pillaged by the Ottoman invaders, the monastery was restored at it present place in 1845. Like most monasteries existing during the Ottoman rule, it often gave shelter to Bulgarian revolutionaries. Several battles took place here during the April Uprising of 1876, when the complex was almost completely destroyed. It was re-build again after the liberation of Bulgaria few years later.
