The Inn of Kakrina village (Kakrinsko Hanche) is one of the most memorable places relating to the Bulgarian starvation for freedom from the Ottoman oppressor. It was a hiding place for distinguished revolutionaries, who were using it as shelter and committee meetings to plan the liberation of the motherland. The village is located 17 kilometers from the town of Lovech. Tragically this is the very place where Bulgaria's most praised national hero Vasil Levski was caught by the Turks, later to be hanged in Sofia. At present days, the Bulgarian nation commemorates his life and legacy every year on February 19th.
