Uhlovitsa cave

The cave is some 3 kilometers south from Mogilitsa (village in the Southern Rhodopes(Rodopa planina) and adjacent to the border with Greece). It is one of the oldest caves in the region and appeals with the beauty of its dendroid forms resembling sea corals. In the cave there are seven enchanting lakes, filled with water in spring and dry in summer. Over one of the lakes there are stalagmites overhanging very much like a waterfall.

The Uhlovitsa cave is settled at 1040 m above sea level, the temperature throughout the whole year is 10-11 degrees. Total gallery length is 440 m, 330 of which are set up for tours.
